What happens when good, responsible people keep quiet? Washington has forgotten they work for us. We don't work for them. Throwing good money after bad is NOT the answer. I am sick of the midnight, closed door sessions to come up with a plan. I am sick of Congress raking CEO's over the coals while they, themselves, have defaulted on their taxes. I am sick of the bailed out companies having lavish vacations and retreats on my dollar. I am sick of being told it is MY responsibility to rescue people that, knowingly, bought more house than they could afford. I am sick of being made to feel it is my patriotic duty to pay MORE taxes. I, like all of you, am a responsible citizen. I pay my taxes. I live on a budget and I don't ask someone else to carry the burden for poor decisions I may make. I have emailed my congressmen and senators asking them to NOT vote for the stimulus package as it was written without reading it first. No one listened. They voted for it, pork and all.

O.K. folks, here it is. You may think you are just one voice and what you think won't make a difference. Well, yes it will and YES, WE CAN!! If you are disgusted and angry with the way Washington is handling our taxes. If you are fearful of the fallout from the wreckless spending of BILLIONS to bailout and "stimulate" without accountability and responsibility then we need to become ONE, LOUD VOICE THAT CAN BE HEARD FROM EVERY CITY, TOWN, SUBURB AND HOME IN AMERICA. There is a growing protest to demand that Congress, the President and his cabinet LISTEN to us, the American Citizens. What is being done in Washington is NOT the way to handle the economic free fall.

So, here's the plan. On April 1, 2009, all Ameicans are asked to send a TEABAG to Washinton , D.C. You do not have to enclose a note or any other information unless you so desire. Just a TEABAG. Many cities are organizing protests. If you simply search, "New American Tea Party", several sites will come up. If you aren't the 'protester' type, simply make your one voice heard with a TEABAG. Your one voice will become a roar when joined with millions of others that feel the same way. Yes, something needs to be done but the lack of confidence as shown by the steady decline in the stock market speaks volumes.

This was not my idea. I visited the sites of the 'New American Tea Pary' and an online survey showed over 90% of thousands said they would send the teabag on April 1. Why, April 1?? We want them to reach Washington by April 15. Will you do it? I will. Send it to; 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Washington , D.C. 20500 .

Forward this to everyone in your address book. Visit the website below for more information about the 'New American Tea Party'. I would encourage everyone to go ahead and get the envelope ready to mail, then just drop it in the mail April 1. Can't guarantee what the postage will be by then, it is going up as we speak, but have your envelope ready. What will this cost you? A little time and a 40 something cent stamp.

What could you receive in benefits? Maybe, just maybe, our elected officials will start to listen to the people. Take out the Pork. Tell us how the money is being spent. We want TRANSPARENCY AND ACCOUNTABILITY. Remember, the money will be spent over the next 4-5 years. It is not too late.

Of course, if you agree with the way things are being done now, just delete!!!!!

Bob Brinkley,

USD/CHF

Here is a 4h showing the drift.

EUR/USD

This daily shows a stubborn down channel that has acted as tough resistance. We seem to think by throwing good money into a bad investment is going to restore confidence. The problem is investors do not trust anything they see, companies balance sheets mean nothing. One company I have deep respect for is AFLAC. In fact this is about the only company I can say I trust. The CEO refused his golden parachute and recently declined his 2m bonus.
What about all the fraud that we are seeing. Suddenly those astute traders that have been ripping off the public are starting to get caught. Much damage has been done to the markets and until confidence is restored I expect this year to be more of the same.
Volatility continues to rear itself. If one is to venture into the markets I recommend trading small positions with lose stops. I’ve been using the weekly charts to figure out position sizes. For the most part it is not even worth the trade as the position size is minuscule…
I do see some concern with every time the government puts out a statement and it moves the markets 100-200 points in less than a few minutes. Just remember the more they (GOV) gets involved the worse things will get.

I think we are near depression status. Our country is derived from credit. This is ugly as those who are living beyond their means will probably be thrown a lifeline from the GOV. This punishes those who have managed their money and folks this is wrong. I predict everything that the Obama team is talking will happen in opposite fashion. http://economywatchblog.dallasnews.com/archives/2009/02/heres-the-scene-today-in.html

GB

GBP/USD

This daily chart of GBP/USD shows a possible inverse head-and-shoulders pattern. The bear clings on with claws as sharp as razor wire cutting American’s 401k virtually in half. Now imagine if you were one of the unfortunate that had needed this cash to live on. Many have flooded the bound markets, but this is an unwise move and the bound markets will crash in 12-24 months.
Investors have been scrambling to find ways to make their cash work for them. I have an electric orange account with ING http://www.ing.com/group/index.jsp So I would recommend looking into ING as a place to earn better interest then your bank. You link your accounts and then simply transfer money. Keep enough cash in your bank to live on and transfer the rest into ING… So in essence I’m saying America needs to get back into the SAVING MODE!

GB

EUR/GBP

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 296px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_E6th_RW2Q18/SZ24sbFsp6I/AAAAAAAAATI/0EQJmUQJ9cs/s320/eurgbp.PNG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5304599009437722530" />
I like the possible long potential in EUR/GBP. Global food shortages , climate weather changes, political instability, and global depression will trigger Biblical sized food shortages that has never been seen before.

If you think our food supply in America is not in jeopardy then you might think again. Just last year we saw about a 22% increase in our cost of food.

Wheat prices alone have risen 92% last year.

The amount of U.S. grain currently stored for following seasons was the lowest on record, relative to consumption.

Food shortages have historically tied to civil unrest. Many countries have been having riots because not having food. Folks, despite the resources shortages food is one we can not do with out. While many western countries ignore the mounting evidence of a global food shortage, even the complacent United Nations is waking up to the reality of a looming world crisis. In a dramatic December 2007 alert, top UN officials report that in an “unforeseen and unprecedented” shift, world food supplies are slipping to dangerous levels, while raw prices are rising to historic record highs. The situation produced “a very serious risk that fewer people will be able to get food,” especially in fragile third world countries, reported Jacques Diouf, director of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization.

(1)The Food and Agriculture Organization of United Nations warned of more food shortages and crop output during the opening of its meeting on Food Security for All, which is being hosted and organized Jan. 26-27 by the Spanish government and co-sponsored by the United Nations. The objectives of the meeting are to raise the political profile of hunger and food security, develop new partnerships and increase resources.
“With an expected increase of 40 million in 2008, the world today has reached 963 million people who are malnourished,” said Jacques Diouf, Task Force vice-chairman and Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN. “This signifies that right now there are almost 1 billion who are hungry, out of the 6.5 billion who make up the world population.”
Diouf called for an investment of $30 billion per year in agriculture of developing countries to double food production by 2050 and ensure the basic right to food for all people.
Meeting participants included UN officials and representatives of international agencies belonging to the Secretary-General’s High-Level Task Force on the Global Food Security Crisis, along with leaders of think tanks, non-governmental organizations and the private sector.

You can Google “food shortages” to get a pretty good idea of the magnitude this is becoming.

So this is just the tip of the iceberg of mounting issues faces the world pertaining to food.

Sources:

(1) Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations

Shmailout Bailout

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 182px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_E6th_RW2Q18/SYjym7yFYyI/AAAAAAAAAQw/qGWSgi0_KSQ/s320/TITANIC.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5298751712298099490" />

I think this bail out is a fraud. We are not going to resolve the issues by throwing cash in the fire. In fact the more the gov. gets involved the longer and deeper we shall slide. Americans do not trust Wall Street and they need to speak up. We stand a very good chance of having a complete collapse of the entire house of cards. Does this frighten you? Well it should. Look at the debt this country has, even an uneducated person like myself can see we cannot repay this back.

We as a country are all aboard the TITANIC and the scary thing is we are steering right for the iceberg. I see it playing out like this. The elite will have access to the lifeboats. The rest of us will be trapped and left to fend for ourselves.

Our Government is directly to blame- The 545 men and women who run this country are to blame. They blame each other for the problems and this must stop. We have 300 million people in this country, but yet only 100 senators, 435 congressmen, the President, and 9 Supreme Court Justices, so I’m pissed at both Democrats and Republicans alike…

What is the solution to the mess? Well, spending is our American problem. Yep, we like to spend. Why would the gov. want to give the people a crumb and think this will stimulate our economy? What a joke! You see folks, the 545 people who run the show are not in touch with reality, they make way too much money to know how hard it is for the common citizen. They don’t know or they have forgotten how hard it is sometimes to make ends meet.

We had kids who were allowed credit and houses they could not afford.

I was taught in the military as a Non-Commissioned Officer that leadership is something that is earned and not given. I learned to lead by example. How can it be possible that Geithner has been elected into a high position, even though he did not pay his TAXES… THIS REALLY PISSES ME OFF…, Not fair folks. You or I would get our heads handed to us for not paying taxes and thought of as a low life. Well, Justice for one is not Justice for all. His failure to pay taxes should have disqualified him. Period.

Our Greed is now repaying us back as a nation. The golden parachutes are gone. CEO’s of big corps thought they were the stuff. Jokers are now sweating it out. This is good and we need the fear to grip this country as a whole and shake the daylights out of us. We need to come to our senses and to bring production jobs back to America. Anytime you kill the train engine you kill the train. We have been limping along for a good while now.

I’ve been shopping at Circuit City for over 15 years. I was impressed with the knowledge of the sales reps and they had incentive to do well. If they sold something they got what use to be called commission. The more they sold the more they earned. Then all of a sudden the GREED mode of corp. America attacked. They took away all incentives. This indeed killed the engine. Ultimately this was the beginning of the end for Circuit City. Folks, this is what has been happening on a macro level around the entire country. I saw it coming for Circuit City 3 years ago. The scary thing is I bet the upper tier of that company did not have a clue. We need to bring back the engine and through incentives reward those who deserve it.

By GB

What Is The Truth?

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_E6th_RW2Q18/SM_-bdutMoI/AAAAAAAAANk/oi0Yicp1Quo/s320/Brickinthewall.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5246691838700368514" />
Well I ask you "what is the truth?" I've not been posting on my blog as I was just waiting for the shoe to drop. Well it dropped, in a big way! So in the mist of madness where does the truth lie? I think the storm is gathering steam. Our problems run deeper then who gets voted into office in a few months. In fact who in their right mind would want to run for President during these tough times? We as humans have for the most part gotten spoiled rotten to the core, and bloated with entitlement. This will have negative consequences for generations to come, should we as humans make it that long. We don't learn until it is too late.

Here is my perspective of the truth. Take what is said by the fed and his friends and just invert it... Paulson was tooting his horn a few weeks ago at how stable the financial market was... I guess this is the reason for injecting 70B of money into the market.

Now I'm also thinking wall street thinks the FED may lower rates. This will be great for oil and gold. The FED must be happy with the strong recovery of the USD? Wow, this is getting real now.

ALL CLEAR?

Well by the looks of things everyone is rejoicing in the streets. It seems that all is clear and the buyers are jumping off the fence to get in the action, after all nobody likes to be left behind. Well we were do for a bounce and so here we go. I suspect Wall Street is ordering their party hats right now. What is the truth in this?

Well let’s just put things in perspective:
Lets see the Feb had to intervene in a deal with Bear Sterns to prevent a “Melt Down”.
Consumers are starting to figure out the economy is slowing.
The Sub prime debacle is just getting started since the bulk of subprime loans are adjustable rate mortgages.
Corporate earnings will reflect a slow down. Possibly causing fear and more job cuts.
The U.S. dollar is in huge trouble, as foreign investors don’t want the risk
The FED is printing money as fast as the printers will allow thus diluting the value of the dollar.

Then Wall Street jumps on the rally wagon and all of a sudden we are rocking. I for one don’t buy the BS. I must ask myself who is next? Do you think these banks have not taken on some huge risks in the mortgage mess? I think we have not seen the end of weekend surprises from the FED and his buddies.

So I ask you this. Are you better off now then five years ago? If your answer is no, then what needs to change?

Our fearless leaders are about worthless and they only care for themselves. What ever happened to “For the People”. Seems that the fat cat got to them all. Now here is something that disturbs me. In this great Country of highly intelligent people how in the hell did, Clinton, Obama and McCain get on the ticket?

Here is Clinton's plan. PHILADELPHIA — Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton returned to one of her major campaign themes Monday — the economic impact of the home mortgage crisis — and called on Congress to provide $30 billion to help states and communities lessen the number of foreclosures.
I should tell her the Country is broke!!!HEHEHEHE

Now that will work.

Just The End of Your Way of Life?

I haven't written anything for public consumption in a while, because I've been busy living in what I like to call, "the real world" and making my living by trading my own money. That's what I do these days. I'm a fly on the wall with electronic access to the dens of thieves.

If I come out on top then I transfer those digits for things I need.

Yes I'm still long gold from $290, and crude from $60 but whatever, I've been doing ok. I've been doing ok that is, if the money I have was worth what it used to be, but it isn't. So rather than just slap a label on what it is when words have already arguably lost their meaning, let's discuss it.

I am personally more concerned about quality of life issues than I am about money given the current circumstances.

The last time when I wrote publicly, I was talking about the decline of the empire and the end of the pre eminence of the US dollar...war, that sort of thing.

So that's what's going on now, what I was talking about then.

The US is currently in what I like to call a period of "decay". It is in a period of decay in every possible way. If you live in the real world like I do, it is evident. If you consume a diet of the corporate media cheerleading squad, then you don't live in the real world and it could be difficult for us to communicate during the rest of this essay. We've got people charged with cleaning up the corrupt broken system going out with an $80,000 hooker bill and being replaced by a blind man. The current El Presidente is a wind-up doll for a bunch that should all be in orange jumpsuits. It would be comical if it weren't so sad to watch it all go down. It is a modern day tragedy being played out in real time in the context of a giant government/corporate media theatre production.

It's amazing to me how people who are into politics or religion or whatever will violently oppose some opinions, when people simply report the facts they see around them. Anyway, again... another subject. Politics and religion are both the same thing. They are both simply effective methods to control large masses of people. I just figured that one out not too long ago when I was into my learning the history of the world project. It has always been that way and always will be.

So anyway, that's all I do to make my living. I assimilate the facts I see around me and invest accordingly. I keep a diary of what I think and why, and I even publish it. If I'm right I make money and if I'm wrong I lose money. I like it that way. It keeps me honest.

That's one reason I don't write a lot publicly these days. It is becoming increasingly difficult for people who live in the real world to communicate with those who don't, and there is an increasing number of those who don't just simply because most people believe what they are told and the lies they are being told are now monumental. Astronomical in size. That's one of those universal rules about human beings; the majority will always go along with whatever you tell them. That's just the way it always has been and always will be. All good propagandists know that.

For those who do think for themselves and live in the real world however, everything that is happening today has been entirely predictable and even expected. I mean, the corporate media will say "no one ever saw this" or "they never saw that" and really the case is they just choose not to have those people appear. That's a whole subject in itself however.

I was noting to my subscribers the other evening that if you take a look at a picture of a pump price for gas from ten years ago until now, that's around an 18% increase annualized every year for ten years. All the other prices in the real world have risen at commensurate levels like healthcare and all the big items people like me in the real world need to spend money on.

Furthermore, if you plot energy in the last five years, the numbers are bigger. If you plot the last two the numbers are bigger yet. The last one, bigger yet. So what we have here in the real world are prices accelerating at an ever-increasing double-digit rate. Call that what you want. We have real wages basically constant and good jobs are harder to come by. We have a middle class that is going away. We have the majority of the citizens having their wealth, if they still have any, confiscated due to the ravages of inflation, or with toxic financial contact with the healthcare/pharma, legal or government money machines. So in the "not real world" big brother and his corporate media outlets wants you to believe that there really hasn't been much inflation or any significant changes to the status quoand that lie is so big that you may even believe it.

So if you do, then you don't live in the real world and we cannot communicate effectively because what you think you know is the product of a corporate boardroom. What I know is the product of living.

The other big thing that has happened since I last wrote is that the guys on Wall Street figured out how to loan a bunch of money to people that had no ability or even real desire to repay that money except for the fact that house prices were sure to go ever higher which is the definition of a mania. So working through a little bit of that math, with an estimated 30% of homeowners currently upside down on their mortgages, that works out to around ten trillion dollars of real estate still to be walked away from according to simple math and a few basic assumptions I worked out the other night.

In the "not real world" they have told you from the outset that first there was no real estate bubble, then that there might have been one, then that it would be over quickly and now they aren't sure when it will be over and the PR firms are busy working on what to tell you next.

It's not going to be over any time soon. The big question in my mind is whether the whole thing is about to go kaput or if we are just going to witness a continuous decay as the wealth shifts into a very small percentage of the population... as the middle class flames out. Again, that is a subject in itself. That is the subject of the Straussian nightmare; a change in the form of government that is pitched as the same thing as the old government.

So on top of this Wall Street genius of loaning money to people who could not pay, you have the cure for all this mess being printing more money (creating more debt). So they're going to fix a problem of too much debt by creating more debt. Perfect. They're even monetizing it by taking nearly worthless debt for brand new money created with the push of a button and an organized media campaign to tell you what they did and why it was good and why it was not monetization or covert nationalization of the banking system. It is what it is, call it what you want.

So the idea is that by pushing buttons you can cure these ills, but the reality is that big pile of new money is diluting the old money and sending the US dollar into the toilet. I mean, they're pitching it as all good, and what's left of the free markets are in sharp disagreement with the party line.

Now; the only reason the USA has gotten away with the idea that this balance sheet was compatible with the idea of being the world's reserve currency was that the USA was the global kingpin, the Mac daddy... until the empire did what all empires do and that's get too big for their britches.

Then they always start going off expanding the empire into places that are too expensive to maintain, imposing their will on people who don't want their will imposed on, and then that all gets so expensive and they start making so many enemies they start going bankrupt. That's what always happens. It always does. That's probably another one of those human nature things.

So in the real world right now, we have a situation where the banks are bankrupt, the government is bankrupt, the people are bankrupt, and the cure for this is to lower interest rates and create more money (debt) by pushing a button... diluting the value of the money further and causing everything we have going on now. It all makes sense here in the real world. All the pieces to the puzzle fit and none don't.

So is this stagflation or is this hyperinflation? Well, I'm not carrying a wheelbarrow around with my money in it yet, but I do know the prices and costs of everything I need to live are going up at an ever-increasing rate.
The shape of that curve is a polynomial consistent with ever accelerating inflation which some would call hyperinflation. I know that if I earn a 20% return, then I might be keeping up with the increase in the costs of everything I need to maintain my personal status quo. If you can balance a checkbook and multiply, then you know. If you are one of the ones who believe everything you're told, then you have to not believe your lying eyes or not be able to balance a checkbook.

When the cure for all problems can only be to lower interest rates and dilute the supply of the money by creating more money, then that is a vicious cycle consistent with acceleration or hyperinflation.

I really don't like it when people casually compare what is going on right now to 1929, because in 1929 the cure was basically to spend less and now the cure is basically to spend more. Even worse, being the geniuses we are, we figured out a way to amplify spending, called derivatives. They're based on the real thing but amplifiedlike 100 times. So we've already been doing the "cure" for so long that maybe the patient is no longer responding?

So what we are currently seeing, in both gold and crude oil is a loss of confidence. It's a loss of confidence that this whole thing makes any sense.

It's a loss of confidence in the absurd idea that you can create wealth by pushing a button. Since this whole thing now relies solely on confidence and not any intrinsic value, commodities, especially gold and crude oil, are acting as alternative wealth storage devices to paper currency.

If you have a bushel of corn, then you know what that is. You can eat it, or do a bunch of other stuff with it. With a piece of paper with a picture and official looking numbers on it, well you aren't as sure as you were yesterday what you can do with that. There will be no run on the banks this time around, because the banks can always be refilled with ever more worthless money. Instead of a run on the banks, there will be a run on the dollar. A run on the dollar (or run into commodities) is the modern equivalent to a run on the banks back then, for the reasons I'll get into shortly.

So there is a loss of confidence roughly equal to people's confidence in the government and the banking system. This decreased confidence is fueled by the fact that they are creating too much money. The idea with fiat money is that you only grow the amount of it as the total output of the economy increases otherwise you are diluting it. The thought experiment for that goes like this. You have one giant pile of stuff, and one giant pile of money. Right now there is enough money so that one-dollar gets one pound of stuff. Now, if you double the amount of that money, then it takes two dollars to equal one pound of that stuff. Unless the pound of stuff doubles in size, you have just caused 100% price inflation. So, operations like just zapping a half a trillion or so into existence out of thin air means just a bigger pile of money going after the same amount of stuff. So that's what we have going on now. These are financial engineering acts of desperation to save a system by giving it more of what got it to this point in the first place... debt. So when regular people like me think about that, they think, that doesn't make any sense, and they lose confidence.

That's in the real world. On TV things are still good though. So if you don't like what you're reading here, then go turn on the TV. You'll feel better.

I hate to simplify things too much, but this is the reason Mr. Greenspan called gold the conscience of the central bankers back in the 60's before he lost his mind or whatever happened. Maybe he couldn't resist the power of the ring or something... I don't know. Anyway, it's their conscience because they can't just zap gold into existence with the stroke of a pen.

Guess what? They can zap money into existence now. Poof - you've got money.

Any amount you want. That's why this is fundamentally different from the great depression. This time, they can just increase the giant pile of money. they can just drop it out of helicopters if they have to. They even said so... and it isn't going to buy as much stuff. It doesn't already.

So you still have the same basic problem from a human standpoint. That's the really interesting thing. In other words, whether you have a deflation like in the 30's or an inflation like now, the people suffer similar effects. It's hard to find a job, you can't make ends meet, city and government functions and services are understaffed and underfunded, and you are hungry. They are both a state of decay. Both usually end in war too.

The last one did. This one is different however in a lot of ways... and it's much more serious. It is fundamentally different because it is the end of the world's first experiment in government by the people and it has been replaced by something new.

So if you're into labels, then maybe you can find a label for what to call this. I like to quote Lenin on that:

"Fascism is capitalism in decay." -Vladimir Lenin

So I really don't want to get into all that implies in a short essay, but I will condense it all and say the US is in a state of decay. Political, socioeconomic, leadership, influence, status, any label you can think of.

The US is losing power and influence in the world, and it only has 5% of the world's populationand they're all bankrupt. I like to think of it like a continuum from the US coming out on top after WWII to a banana republic run by El Presidente. That's what I call them now, whoever he or she is, El Presidente because that's what they are. A corporate spokesman who is put there, bought and paid for by Acme corp.

The country has lost its way and is increasingly operating at the whim of the corporate lobbyists and special interests that own the politicians as the stench of it all starts to smell so foul that even the corporate media disinformation campaign can't convince your lying eyes. It is not what it appears to be. It is Rome circa 400's. It has already bankrupted itself policing an unsustainably large global empire. You have to live through the decline.

So that all gets into people living in the real world versus those who are not. Again, it's safe to say that the world is voting with its dollars... and the 5% of the world's population are going down hard on 95% leverage. They aren't going to like it either.

Tune in next time to hear which states secede first.

Mar 14, 2008
Craig Harris

Can Someone tell me what is wrong with this picture? We are in the beginning. I think we will melt down and so it is my belief that liquidating U.S. 401’s, mutual funds, stocks, and bonds is prudent. Despite what the masses will tell you this Country is broke. Now you all can call me a nut or whatever. I know we need a correction right? Well what is different this time around? Oh our higher ups in gov. are doing things in reverse. What happens when we lower rates? What good does this really do? I’m telling you this short term thinking has got us in a real pickle and guess what? The pickle jar is about to break. In every bear market thousands have lost everything. Yes buy buy buy… Well many thought C was a buy at 47, then 40,35,30,25,..While your looking at C punch in ticker CC and look at that little jewel. What a good deal. In fact most cash is lost in a bear market by the bargain hunters trying to get a deal... C is in huge trouble as relying on foreign investors to help try to bail them out. Point being don’t you fall pry to the media and the experts telling you everything is all right. India and China’s demand for natural resources will continue into the future and so Energy will continue up. The metals will continue higher and the U.S. dollar will continue lower. Well I said it and put it out here for all to see how much of a fool I might be and should the market rebound and burst into new highs and hold I will then be proven wrong!!

Here is the link for Que's money management tool. A billion seconds ago it was 1959.

B. A billion minutes ago Jesus was alive.

C. A billion hours ago our ancestors were living in the Stone Age.

D. A billion days ago no-one walked on the earth on two feet.

E. A billion dollars ago was only 8 hours and 20 minutes, at the
rate our government is spending it.

While this thought is still fresh in our brain, let's take a look
at New Orleans It's amazing what you can learn with some simple division .

Louisiana Senator, Mary Landrieu (D), is presently asking the
Congress for $250 BILLION to rebuild New Orleans. Interesting number, what
does it mean?

A. Well, if you are one of 484,674 residents of New Orleans (every
man, w oman, child), you each get $516,528.

B. Being humble with your trades I feel goes a long way. It took me a while to learn this. I would be up a few dollars in a stock and think I was the man. I would brag about it and think I was bulletproof. I could not figure why every time I ran my mouth my positions would get slammed. It was like a force was telling me to shut up and keep my mouth shut. Well after blowing out my account I learned what I feel is a very valuable lesson.

Are you ready for the secret? Here it is. Just simply keep your mouth shut when your position is moving in your direction. Being HUMBLE is something I think many people miss when trading. They got to run out and tell everyone how great they are and before you know it they are missing in action. It reminds me of the old soldiers, they never die they just fade away. Folks what you get from the market does not need to be known to the world.

If you don't believe me try it and see for yourself. It might be something that changes your trading results 180 degrees...

Map Reading

Happy New Years

Well 2007 is coming to a close. What worked out well and what did not are some things to check out. It is a good idea as we move forward to improve our performance by realizing things that work and those that do not.

If you fell short of your objectives don’t beat yourself up. The problem I found was that they had conflicting values. What this means basically is that one indicator would be flagging a buy signal and the next a sell. I was so keyed towards looking at the indicators that I totally neglected price action. Well, after several frustrated months of this I decided to turn them all off and just look at the naked chart. To my surprise I started seeing things clearer. I found a guy named Dave Landry and watched some of his presentations and liked what I saw. It was at this juncture that I new my struggle with indicators was history and I’ve not looked back. I’m not against indicators and if you use them more power to you, but as for me they clouded my judgment and had me focusing on the wrong things. Most do not understand how the indicators they use are formulated and or really how to use them. In fact indicators are all derivatives of price. I think most beginners go through this indicator phase and think they must be the true secret to market success. I would be willing to bet if you turned off everything and just focused on bar charts that after a while you would see what I’m talking about. Problem is most are narrow minded and want to see entry signals every few minutes, thus leading them into the overtrading mode that wipes out hard earned cash.

Trading is a Lonely Task!!

Well it is true... He/she will try one thing for a trade and then another and another. This often leads to uncertainty and frustration. I think a methodology needs to undergo for some time to prove its strengths and weaknesses. During this testing phase it might not be a bad idea to use a demo account or at least trade with small lot sizes. I think you must believe in what you’re doing and stick with it until the resualts prove you right or wrong. Often it is not the methodology but market conditions that are unfavorable for trading. Remember cash is a position and being in cash is not a bad thing. Remember, you don’t need to trade everyday…

So if you're using a methodology and have not got the results you're looking for, first thing I suggest is to look at the current conditions of the market you are trading. Is it choppy, trending, or moving sideways? Get a small notebook and create a basic journal for you to track your progress. Conduct an after action review of your trades and log it.. Folks, logging your trades might be the best thing you can do…

Get Your Head Right

Is trading difficult? This question has more weight than one thinks. From my personal experience I have seen the Internet plastered with "HOT ENTRY TIPS". Really folks, do the hot entry tips make you a better trader? Check out the web and web forums and it is blanketed with how to enter a trade. Hey great I'm in... Now what?

Well I've been thinking about this today and here are some of my thoughts on this. It is pure hog wash. Think about it. I could take 100 traders and give them all the same entries and I bet you would have 90 different results. Why is this? Well, the reason is everyone views the markets differently. So our state of mind has an enormous impact on every trade we make. Emotions are part of life and in trading emotions often get the best of us. So how do we get our heads right? This is what I feel is the key to successful trading. We get our minds right by following our thought out plan and executing it. We do the best we can when our plan is not working right and our position is going the wrong way. We make our own decisions and do not ask for approval from anyone. We use caution when surfing chat rooms. We identify our risk parameters before we ever enter any trade. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Frb88uMX--c

What is Important?

The thing that is important as a trader is sticking to your plan. Folks, the more decisions you make once in a trade the more harm will come from them. In the long run you will be better off not playing with your plan. Listen, if your risk is defined and you are willing to take a 1-2% hit then let the trade develop. You will often notice that things take time to develope. You might feel like you're a hero by "MICRO MANAGING" your trade, but I can tell you that in the long run you will kick yourself.

If you're one who can't watch a position go against you then here is a tip. Just place your stop and shut down your machine... What is the worst that can happen? Well you get stopped out... Big deal. Despite all the crap you read in chat rooms, getting stopped out is part of the game and it happens more often then one thinks. Look, you have not a clue what people in chat rooms are doing and or even if they are live or not. Heck folks, plan your trade and trade your plan. Forget about the rest.
http://forex-trading4you.blogspot.com/2007/11/common-sense-guidelines-for-average.html
